Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Hackberry · About five minutes

Notice one detail. Offer one act of care.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Settle with a comfortable view

Choose a permitted seat or stable standing place clear of damaged limbs. Use your usual supports and keep your eyes at a comfortable angle.

  2. Study one texture

Choose a patch of bark or a visible leaf. Follow one ridge or edge with your eyes. Touch is optional and unnecessary; leave bark intact.

  3. Include the surroundings

Widen your view to nearby plants, light, and any wildlife present. Notice without approaching or disturbing animals. Keep your breathing natural.

  4. Carry care into the day

Choose one small act that could support you or another living thing. Make it realistic for today, then return to the whole scene before finishing.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

What small act of care became possible when you paid attention?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
