Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Tamarack · About five minutes

Keep. Release. Return.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Meet the current form

Choose a stable, permitted viewpoint with your usual supports. Name what you actually see: green needles, gold, bare twigs, cones, or another detail.

  2. Find what remains

Follow one visible branch. Notice the structure beneath today's foliage, without assuming every loss or change has the same meaning.

  3. Consider one release

With natural breathing, ask whether there is one unnecessary demand you could set down today. Let the question stay modest; no major decision is needed.

  4. Choose a return

Name something worthwhile you would like to revisit, whether this tree or a practice in your day. Finish without making a deadline or a streak.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

What can you release while remaining connected to what matters?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
